About Capitol Record

The Capitol Record is TVW’s blog about state government and the Legislature. TVW is a non-profit television network modeled after C-SPAN, airing gavel-to-gavel coverage of the state Legislature as well as independently produced news shows.

The blog is edited by Christina Salerno, the host and producer of TVW’s Legislative Review. The show recaps each day’s legislative highlights, and airs nightly at 6:30 and 11 p.m. during session. Christina previously worked as a reporter for McClatchy newspapers and as a web editor at CBS and MSN. For questions or comments about the blog, send Christina an email.

Joanna Sappenfield is a reporter writing for the 2016 session for The Capitol Record. She’s a recent graduate from the University of Washington Tacoma, where she was a student reporter for the Justice Project, a six month journalism project reinvestigating a 2006 murder. She also interned at The News Tribune and Seattle Met Magazine.

Holly Thorpe is a journalism intern for session. She is set to graduate from the University of Washington in Seattle this June. Originally from Wenatchee, she has worked for a handful of other publications including The Wenatchee World and Citizen Matters in Bangalore, India.
